Nigeria Launches Lithium Processing Plant in Abuja

In a bid to improve the mining sector, Nigeria has unveiled the ASBA-Wisdom Lithium processing plant in Abuja.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Solid Minerals, Mr. Dele Alake on X, formerly Twitter on Friday.

“I chaired the groundbreaking ceremony of the ASBA-Wisdom Lithium processing plant in Abuja, and it is important to note that the project aligns with the Federal Government’s value addition policy.

“Once finished, the lithium factory will generate 1.6 million tonnes of processed lithium yearly and is forecasted to create job opportunities for at least 1,200 Nigerians,” Mr. Alake said.

He assured the support of the federal government for the significant lithium project.

The minister also emphasised that advancing the diversification of the economy through the development of the mining sector is a key focus of President Bola Tinubu’s administration of Renewed Hope agenda.
